About me
Gökçe Er (b. 1982, Çorlu, Turkey) is an artist living and working in Istanbul. She began her art education in 1997 at Avni Akyol Anatolian Fine Arts High School and graduated as the top-ranking student from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University’s Painting Department in 2005. That same year, she won the Sabancı Foundation Awards first prize. She completed her master’s degrees in Interdisciplinary Arts and Painting at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna. In 2007, she was invited to the Rijksakademie Residency selection in Amsterdam.
Her work is characterized by a multi-layered and particle-based approach that explores existence, love, and the fabric of the universe. Through evolving forms, she questions individual and collective consciousness, merging her inner journey with philosophical and scientific perspectives.

Her art is built upon a multi-layered and textural structure, exploring the relationships between light, matter, and consciousness. By synthesizing scientific and artistic disciplines, she translates the dynamics of the universe into the language of painting.

Gökçe Er (d. 1982, Çorlu, Türkiye), İstanbul’da yaşayan ve çalışan bir sanatçıdır. Sanat eğitimine 1997 yılında Avni Akyol Anadolu Güzel Sanatlar Lisesi’nde başladı ve 2005 yılında Mimar Sinan Güzel Sanatlar Üniversitesi Resim Bölümü’nden fakülte birincisi olarak mezun oldu. Aynı yıl Sabancı Vakfı Ödülleri’nde birincilik kazandı. Yüksek lisans eğitimini Mimar Sinan Güzel Sanatlar Üniversitesi ve Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna’da Disiplinlerarası Sanat ve Resim alanlarında tamamladı. 2007’de Rijksakademie Residency (Amsterdam) seçmelerine davet edildi.
Sanatı, varoluş, sevgi ve evrenin dokusunu keşfeden çok katmanlı ve parçacık temelli bir yaklaşıma sahiptir. Evrimleşen formlar üzerinden bireysel ve kolektif bilinci sorgulayan eserler üretir. İçsel yolculuğunu, felsefi ve bilimsel yaklaşımlarla harmanlayarak sanatına yansıtır.

Sanatı, ışık, madde ve bilinç arasındaki ilişkileri araştırırken, çok katmanlı ve dokusal bir yapı üzerine inşa edilir. Bilimsel ve sanatsal disiplinleri sentezleyerek, evrenin dinamiklerini resim diliyle yorumlamaktadır.
